| RESEARCH BACKGROUNDAcquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS)has now become a serious public health problem in the global scope that harms survival and development of humanity. At present, the incidence of AIDS and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is increasing rapidly in our country, from high risk, such as drug user, to common population. AIDS has brought the serious impact on people's physical and moral integrity and safety as well as the development of economy and society of our country.RESEARCH OBJECTIVESTo well understand the population's cognition towards AIDS and to analyzes the knowledge and coginition way and the manner towards AIDS, to provide countermeasures and suggestions for the effective preventing and controlling of AIDS, enhancing the safety and life quality of the population.RESEARCH METHODFirst, the towns of each county were divided into three levels, high, middle and low, according to the economy level. Then in each category of towns with each county, one town was chosen by using stratified cluster sampling method. Thirdly, in each sampling town, six middle-sized villages were randomly chosen according to the socio-economic level. Last, 120 households were taken as survey objects by mechanic sampling method and inquired by interviewers.The contents of survey included: 1) general information about sampling household; 2) demographic characteristics on individual, such as age and education; 3) the cognition and attitude towards AIDS. |
