| [Objective] To study the role of pl6 and bax gene during malignant transformation and progression of rectal adenoma, and its significance in early diagnosis and evaluating the prognosis of rectal carcinoma.[ Method ]This study included 71 cases of filed paraffin rectal tissue section. Expression of pl6 and bax gene in 17 cases of adenoma, 16 cases of adenoma with malignant change, 24 cases of adenocarcinoma and 14 cases of adenocarcinoma with metastasis were detected by immunohistochemistry. The homozygous deletion of pl6 exon 2 in 71 cases of rectal neoplasm were detected by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique.[Result] The positive rate of pl6 protein in adenoma was significantlyhigher than those of the other three groups (P < 0.05), while the positive rates of pl6 protein had no significant difference in adenoma with malignant change , adenocarcinoma and adenocarcinoma with metastasis(P > 0.05). Expression of pl6 protein in adenoma had no correlation with gender, age, volume of tumor, histological type and the degree of dysplasia(P > 0.05). |
