Objective: To study the expressions of Inhibitors of DNA binding 1(Id-1)in human gastric cancer and human gastric cancer cell line SGC-7901 , explore the relationship between Id-1 expression and clinicopathological parameters in human gastric cancer, and to investigate the relationship between Id-1, cell apoptosis and proliferation .Method:1.The expression of Id1 mRNA and Id1 protein in human gastric cancer tissues and the adjacent normal gastric tissues was detected by RT-PCR and S-P immunohistochemistry.2.The expression of Id1 mRNA and Id1 protein in human gastric cancer cell line SGC-7901 was detected by RT-PCR and S-P immunohistochemistry.3.Proliferating cell nuclear antigen (Ki-67) expression was detected by S-P immunohistochemistry, and apoptotic level was evaluated by terminal deoxynucleotidy-transferase-mediated dUTP nick and labeling (TUNEL) assay on the tissue section. Results: 1. RT-PCR : The expression rate of the 35 cases of gastric cancer and adjacent normal gastric tissues were 91.4%(32) and 71.4%(25) respectively(P<0.05);2.Immunohistochemistry: The expression levelof id1 protein was significant higher in gastric cancer than normal gastric tissues(P<0.05). The expression of id1 was associated with the depth of tumor invasion , differentiation grades, lymph node metastasis(P<0.05) and but had no correlation with age, Bormann course and distant metastasis(P>0.05).3.Apoptosis index (9.00±2.34%) in 47 case of gastric cancer was lower than that (12.13±3.12%) in adjacent normal gastric tissues ((P<0.05) and Ki-67LI (58.15±13.19%)in gastric cancer was higher than that (22.56±6.10% ) in adjacent normal gastric tissues (p<0.05).4. Proliferating index and Apoptosis index in gastric cancer was associated with...
