Objection Develop a rat model of nonbacterial chronic prost-atitis for further research.Method 20 1-year-old male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into third groups randomly, the normal group, the Sodium Chloride group and the model group. The normal group received no treatm-ent. The Sodium Chloride group was castrated and injected Sodium Chloride (0.3 ml/kg/day, s.c.) for 30 days. The model group was castrated and injected estradiol benzoate (0.25 mg/kg/day, s.c.) for 30 days. Prostates were harvested after 30 days injection. Prostatic tissue was examined histologically for degree of inflammation.
