Objective: Researching the characteristics of epidemiology and mechanism of head injurieson road traffic accident, discussing the state of the head injuries appraisal, the assessment on later stage of head injuries, the invalidism of traumatic condition and the related factors; in order to provide data bases on preventing reducing road traffic accident and the application of clinicalforensic medicine. Method: The restropective statistical analysis was carried out in 346 cases with clinical forensic medicine in the Center of Judicial Expertise of Kuming Medicine College. Result: The age distribution of head injuries cases in the traffic accidents assumes to be thenormal distribution, from 25 to 64 years old accounts for 61.8 percent of traffic rate. The road traffic accident frequently occurs from 19 to 22 p.m in a day, which accounts for 27.2 percent. The road traffic accident among the children and the young people frequently occurs from 13 to 14 p.m, which accounts for 33.3 percent, the road accident of aged people frequently occurs from 19 to 22 pm, which accounts for 38.9 percent. The vehicles that cause trouble account for 80.9 percent among all the traffic accident. Among the injured, walkers and the bicycle riders account for 65.3 percent in the traffic accident. In the traffic accident of head injuries, serious injury accounts for 42.6 percent and children and young people's slight injuries accounts for 43.3 percent while aged people's serious injury accounts for 56 percent. The evaluation of head injuries from i to X stage accounts for 89 percent in evaluation, and the later stage evaluation of head injuries from 6 month to 1 year accounts for 54.6 percent in cases.
