Study On The Association Between The HLA-DRB1 Alleles And Type 2 Diabetes In Yi Nationality Of Yunnan

Objective Investigating was made on the association between HLA-DRBl alleles and type 2 diabetes mellitus in Yi nationality of Yunnan, to find the probable protective and susceptible alleles of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus of Yi nationality in Yunnan and to provide scientific basis for farther investigation about genetic pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes mellitus.Methods Polymerase chain reaction with sequence-specific primers(PCR-SSP) genotyping method was conducted in 79 patients with type 2 diabetes of Yi nationality and 47 ethnically matched controls from Chuxiong of Yunnan province. Then a study was made on the correlation between the HLA-DRBl alleles and type 2 diabetes mellitus.Results In Yi nationality of Yunnan , the frenquencies of DR 7 and DR11 alleles in the patients of type 2 diabetes mellitus were significantly higer than that in the healthy control group ( P < 0.05 ) , risk rates of which are respectively 8.329 and 7.734 . The frenquencies of DR3, DR4,DR9,DR15 and DR53 alleles are not different between type 2 diabetes mellitus group and healthy control group.Conclusion DR 7 and DR11 alleles are probably susceptible genes of type 2 diabetes mellitus in Yi nationality of Yunnan province . It seems that DR 3, DR4, DR9,DR15 and DR53 alleles are probably foreign to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
