Objective To explore the effect of homologous blood transfusion on serum levels of IL-2,sIL-2R and PGE2 of acute lymphoblastic leukemia in children, then try to find out whether homologous blood transfusion can cause immunosuppression and the possible mechanism. Methods 1.case group: 28 children suffering of acute lymphoblastic leukaemia were treated in West China second university hospital of sichuan University during the period of 2004.6~2005.12. Patients were divided into 3 groups according to the transfusion volume.Group1:9 patients accepted a volume<3 units;group2:14 patients transfused ≥3 units; group3:5 patients untransfused.Three blood samples were obtained from each of the 28 patients: by venipuncture, before transfusion (sample 1),1 month (sample 2)and 3 months after (samples 3) transfusion(or similar time for group3) 2.control group: The control group consisted of 7 healthy children (group4) from health care outpatient department.Blood sample was obtained from each of the 7 patients by venipuncture.Sample tubes were centrifuged and the serum was aspirated, transferred into Eppendorf cups, and stored at -40℃ until further analysis was performed. 3.cell-mediated immunity and humoral-mediated immunity:immunological before chemotherapy and after...
