Clinical Research Of Tremor Type Parkinson's Disease With PD NO.2

ObjectivesParkinson' s disease (PD) is a degenerative disease of nervous system, which is common in middle or/and old peoples. With the development of the social, its high incidence and morbidity harmed the human health seriously. The treatment of PD is very difficult. The PD patients need treatment in their whole life, which brings about enormous loss of social and economy. L-dopa has still been a "the gold standard" of the therapy of PD. This therapy could improve the PD's symptom, however, it would have no command over the PD progress. Moreover, with the extension of the medicine time and the enlargement of dosage, L-dopa's effect would decline gradually and its poisonous side-effects would increase by degrees. DBS has a better effect, however, it has strict adaptation disease, expensive treatment and could not command over the progress of PD. Although the research of gene therapy indicates the exciting foreground, the gene transplant is still placed at the experimental stage only and is faraway in the clinical application because of the immunity repulsion, the problem of the ethics and so on. The objectives of this research is to preliminarily evaluate the clinical efficacy of PD NO. 2 (experimental prescription of my tutor—Professor Luo) on PD. This research may provide basis for the Traditional Chinese Medical (TCM) recognition of PD ( Tremor type ), for summarizing and generalizing TCM therapy on PD ( Tremor type ) , and for exploitation of new drugs. MethodsThis research is a prospective randomized controlled trial. All the sixty qualified patients come from PD special out-patient or hospital ward of Guandong Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. These patients were grouped randomly into two groups: thirty in Group A , thirty in Group B. Therapy ofGroup A was: Decoction of PD NO. 2, PO, one dose QD, together with Madopar 250mg in the morning-, 125mg in the noon> 125mg in the evening, PO;therapy of Group 3 was only taking Madopar orally, the dose was as same as Group A. Observing cycle of the two groups were both three months. SPSS 11.0 software was used to handle datum. T-test was used to handle quantitative datum and rank sum test was used to handle categorical datum. Cone I us ion?PD NO. 2 is an effective prescription for tremor type PD, especially at the movement function ordinary activity^ phychosis^ behavior and emotion. ?Tremor type PD' s pathogenesis is deficiency of Yin-Blood and Liver-Wind stirs up internally. We take a good healing effect from the treatment of nourish Kidney and Liver. ?The treatment of the tremor type Parkinson' s Disease with PD NO. 2 didn' t discover obvious untoward effect. ?Inadequacy of this research: The sample size is small, which influences the deduction of conclusion;PD is a chronic disease of progressivity, therefore, time limited exists in a certain .degree for the efficacy assessment;Cases of pure TCM treatment are not enough and the efficacy can' t be counted strictly.
