Clinical Observation About Treating Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease With The Method Of "Reinforcing Earth To Strengthen Metal"

Objective:l.To summary TCM and modern medicine in recognizing respiratory muscle fatigue on Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease(COPD) and research progression.2.To observe therapeutic effect of the Method of "Reinforcing earth to strengthen metal" on the treatment of respiratory muscle fatigue in COPD. Methods:1. The literature research: To study the therapeutical effect of invigorate the spleen with TCM on the treatment of respiratory muscle fatigue in COPD, through referring to packs of Chinese and foreign literature.2. Clinical research: 60 cases of COPD patients randomly divided into two groups:the therapeutic group and the control group, each with 30 case. Observe the changes of the main symptoms, physical signs and pulmonary function,, Result:The control & excellent effective rates and the total effective rate of the therapeutic group were 56.67% and 83.34% respectively, while 30.00% and 63. 34% of the control group. The changes of the main symptoms, physical signs, pulmonary function in both groups are obviously improved, While there' s remarkable difference between two groups ( P<0.05 ), indicates that the therapeutic group has ascendancy in therapeutic effect. Conclusion:1. Patients of COPD generally has respiratory muscle functiong deficiency, respiratory muscle fatigue is the severe condition, Spleen- deficiency is the most important pathogenesy.2. The method of "Reinforcing earth to strengthen metal" can improve the main symptoms, physical signs and pulmonary function in treating of COPD. Thatindicates the method can use in improving respiratory muscles fatigue, it consistent with TCM determination of treatment based in pathogenesis obtained through differentiation of symptoms and signs basic theory. And it has favourable research perspective.
