| Objective: To study whether the leakage of bone cement can lead to pulmonary embolism in vertebroplasty, and the correlation of embolism degree to the doses and the kinds of bone cement.Material and Methods: Twenty majority canis familiars(15-17kg)were randomly divided into 4 dose groups: A,B,C group was respectively injected into 0.5 ml,1.0ml,2.0ml PMMA , D group was injected into 1.0 ml CPC. Chest CT was performed immediately after the dogs were anesthetized. Both femoral veins were inserted by vascular sheaths, and one femoral artery was also inserted by sheath. Then DSA of pulmonary artery was performed, and the pressure of pulmonary artery was measured. Meanwhile the blood gas analysis was performed. The cement was injected into the vein through sheath. The same measure was done again at 1,10,30 minutes after cement was injected into dog's vein. Chest CT was performed again after all procedures were finished. At last histology was examined after HE pigmentation. The data acquired were statistically analyzed by SPSS 13.0.Result : The pulmonary embolisms were all proved with the findings of CT,DSA,histology examination. In C group both the pressure of O2 and CO2 were significantly different between before and after cement injection under statistical analysis (p<0.05). Both B group's pressure of pulmonary artery and C group's were significantly different between before and after cement injection under statistical analysis (p<0.05). Conclusion: The leakage of PMMA and CPC can lead to pulmonary embolism. Pulmonary embolism induced by PMMA is more serious than that induced by CPC. Pulmonary embolism degree is correlative to the doses of bone cement. The normal dose... |
