Objective: To evaluate the choosing of different surgical methods for the treatment of lumbar spinal stenosis and the surgical indication of lumbar spinal stenosis and comparison of the respective effect.Method:187 cases with 158 followed up of lumbar spinal stenosis from 1998 to 2004 were analyzed retrospectively. The average age was 52.5 years, the average history was 4 years and 5 months. All cases were divided into three groups.Group I consisted of 91 cases were treated with simple surgical decompression (laminectomy or hemilaminectomy).Groupe II consisted of 33 cases were treated with laminectomy, intervertebral fusion.Group III consisted of 34 cases were treated with laminectomy, intervertebral fusion and pedical screws system internal fixation.Result:158 cases were followed up for 1 year to 7 years and the average followed-up was 4 years and 1 month. The satisfactory rate of the three groups was 89.01﹪,87.88﹪and 88.24﹪respectively. Among it,the satisfactory rate of the typical cases(102) was 94.94﹪,94.44﹪and 100﹪respectively,and the satisfactory rate of the complex cases(56) was 50.00﹪,53.33﹪and 93.10﹪respectively. Conclusion:the results of the different surgical methods for the treatment of different types of lumbar spinal stenosis are satisfactory.Strict surgical indication, skilled surgical technique and proper surgical methods are the keys to good result. It also indicates that laminectomy, intervertebral fusion and internal fixation is proper to the treatment of complex lumbar spinal stenosis. |
