Objective: 1.To explore the clinical characteristics of treatment-resistant depression(TRD).2.To study the efficacy and safety of different treatments to the patients with TRD.3.To investigate whether there are relationships between the efficacy and other factors and to provide the clinician with some indication for treatment. Methods: Patients who meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria were assessed with HAMD17 and HAMA before treatment, be measured serum thyroxine stimulating hormone (TSH), total triiodoothyronin (T3) , total thyroxine ( T4), FT3, FT4, MMPI and other test. After finishing above measurement, the patients were treated with different treatment randomly. The patients responders to antidepressants were treated with TCAs (amitriptyline, Impramine, Doxepine), SSRIs, SNRIs. The patients of TDR were treated with Venlafaxine combined lithium, thyroxine, risperdal, olanzapine and psychotherapy. At the 1st,2nd,4th,6th week after treatment ,the efficacy were evaluated with Hamiltons Rating scale for Depression 17 (HAMD), and the Clinical Global Impressions Scale( CGIs), the side effects were evaluated with Treatment Emergent Symptom Scale(TESS).
