[Background and Objective] It is a basic identification method to estimate stature from long bone length. There are many anthropologist and forensic scientists focused on this area and contributed a lot of literature on the equations. But the stature of human being has increased quickly and radically during the last century because of improvement of nutrition and medical care. It must be wrong by using the old equations to contemporary population. So it is urgently to modify or rewrite these outdated equations. But the difficulty is how to get the large sample with accurate recorded statue. The previous famous research was studied on the remains of the victims in large-scale wars or massive disasters or studied on the collections of medical anatomy. It is not easy for us to obtain such sample in a short time nor do we expect it. Even if we got it, the lack of accurate premortem stature will make it all in vain. As we know, the best way to get accurate stature is to measure the living directly, then the question changed to how to measure the longbone length of the living. We use the digital radiography...
