The success rate of root canal therapy has been reported to be between 70% and 95% by many investigators. Factors affecting the results of endodontic treatment include the anatomy of root canal, prognosis correlation factors and the subject factors both form the clinicians and the patients considerations. Among these factors, previous studies have demonstrated that the anatomy of root canal has a strong influence on the outcome of the root canal therapy.In this study, we assessed the risk of failure of root canal treatment due to the anatomy of root canal, and to correlate them with multiple logistic regression model to find out the real factors among them. The result of the logistic regression model had also been used to providing the parameters to the preliminary establishing of the difficulty assessment system of the root canal therapy.
