Objective:To evaluate the therapeutic effects of tramadol and flavoxate hydrochloride in the control of bladder spasm and unstable bladder during the early stage after transurethral resection of the prostate .Methods:This was a single-blind , randomized controled trial .Forty patients who underwent TURP for symptomatic benign prostatic hyperplasia were divided into tramadol and flavoxate hydrochloride group and control group at random. Tramadol and flavoxate hydrochloride group treated by tramadol i. v., 2ml/h with micropump and flavoxate hydrochloride p.o., 200mg three times a day. Control group treated by routine methods.Resultes:The symptoms score, the number of bladder spasm episodes and duration of bladder spasm in seventy - two hours,the time of bladder perfusion clearance and indwelling catheter delivery,the number of incontinence in twenty - four hours after catheter delivery in tramadol and flavoxate hydrochloride group reduced significantly as compared with control group .Conclusion:Tramadol i. v. with micropump and flavoxate hydrochloride po is effective in the prevention and treatment of postoperative bladder spasm and unstablse bladder after TURP , it can relieve clinical symptoms, reduce the time of in - hospital and lower the medical expendituer. There are some significance in clinical works.
