| Objective: To find an effective and suitable method of nutritional support for post-operating patients after pancreatoduodenectomy. Methods: Analyse retrospectively the patients that had pancreatoduodenectomy during Sep 2004 to Dec 2005, divide patients into two groups according to the enteral nutrition (EN) or the parenteral nutrition (PN), compare the Hb, TP, ALB and cell immune function respectively and find the difference between two groups in weight lost, recover of the bowel's function, complication rate, time spend in hospital and money cost in the therapy. Result: Both EN and PN could improve the nutritional condition, however EN has advantages over PN in producing protein and expenditure. Conclusion: we recommend EN after pancreatoduodenectomy. |
