Lonicera ruprechtiana Regel, the caprifoliaceous woodbine, is widely distributed in the northeast region of China, especially in the Changbai Mount region.Flos Lonicera is known as a kind of Chinese traditional tonic herb and has many important biological activities which plays important roles in clinic application, such as anti-bacterial, anti-inflammation, anti-virus, antioxidant and so on. The chemical constituents and pharmacologic actions of Flos Lonicera have been researched extensively, but there is a little research on Lonicera ruprechtiana Regel, which has the similar biological activity according some literature advices. So it will enlarge Flos Lonicera's medicinal plant source, if we do some research on it. Therefore, Lonicera ruprechtiana Regel's exploitation should not be neglected. This report is mainly concern about the isolation and structure elucidation of compounds from the buds of Lonicera ruprechtiana Regel. This report mainly focuses on several aspects shown below.First, the review on chemical constituents and biological activities of Lonicera genus.Second, the isolation of 9 compounds from Lonicera ruprechtiana Regel by using solvent extraction, SG column chromatography and ODS column chromatography.Third, the structure elucidation of these compounds by physico-ch emical constants and spectroscopic analysis. They are: daucosterol,7S -O-methylmorroniside,loganin,neohesperidin, benzyl-O-β-D-xylopyran osyl-(1→6)-β-D-glucopyranoside, secologanic acid, loganic acid, 6'- O-β-D-apiofuranosyl sweroside, and they are all first separated fro m Lonicera ruprechtiana Regel. This study will be beneficial for further development and utilization of Lonicera ruprechtiana Regel, and it is also a necessary preparation for the clinical application of this herb.
