Study Of Tidal Lung Function About The Asthma Children Suffered From Mycoplasma Pneumoniae

Objectives: To study the lung functional changes in pre-school children suffered fromasthma complicated with Mycoplasma Pneumoniae (MP) infection by analyzing theindexes reflecting the lung function in tidal breathing.Methods: 65 cases of acute bronchial asthma patients and 62 cases of agematchedhealthy children hospitalized in SuZhou Universitiy affiliated children hospital in theperiod between November 2002 and June 2004 undertook lung function test using theVmax 26. Based on the results, a tidal breathing flow volume loop was dream. Through aMP-IgM positive (Mp Group) and MP-IgM negative (no-Mp Group). A comparison wasmade among the Mp-Group, no-Mp Group and the normal group respectively.Results: Compared with the normal group (1) RR increases in Mp Group(p＜0.01), whileTI, TE, TPTIF, TPTEF, VTI, VTE, VT, TI/TE, TEF25, TEF10, VPIEF, TEF75/PTEF,TEF25/PTEF, VPTEF/VTE, MTEF/MTIF decline, TEF50/PTEF declines, in whichsignifasnt differences are found(p＜0.05). PTIF, PTEF, MTEF, TEF decline, MTIF increases,but the differences are of little singnificance (p＞0.05). (2) RR also increases in no-Mpgroup(p＜0.01), TI, TE, TPTEF, VTI, VTE, VT, TI/TE, TPTEF/TE, TEF25, TEF10, VPTEF,TEF75/PTEF, VPTEF/VTE, MTEF/MTIF, PTEF, MTEF, TEF50, TEF50/PTEF,TEF25/PTEF decline(p＜0.05), in which significant differences are found(p＜0.05).PTIFMTIF increase, TPTIF, TEF75, VPTIF decline, but the differences are of littlesignificance(p＞0.05). (3) Compare the Mp group with the no-Mp group, TI, TE, TPTIF,VTI, VTE, VT, VPTEF, VPTEF/VTE decline, in which significant differences arefound(p＜0.05). RR is relatively increases, TI/TE, TPTEF, TPTEF/TE, MTIF, TEF25,TEF10, VPTIF, VPTEF, TEF25/PTEF decline, PTEF, MTEF, VE, TEF75, TEF50, TEF75/PTEF, TEF50/PTEF, MTEF/MTIF increase, but of little signififcance(p＞0.05). (4)the shape of TBFVL Normal Group: TBFVL resmbles a oval shape, a sine-shapedrelationship is found between the tidal breathing flow and the volume. No-Mp Group: theoutbeathing time is longer with the maxium outbreathing rate declines, TBFVL resemblesa short-fat shape. The heavier the airway is obstructed, the more sharply is the dediningline. Mp-Group: the ascending line of TBFVL is steep rising to the similar level to thenormal group. But it declines the most sharply in the outbreathing phase.Conelusions: Compared with the normal group, the lung functions change greatly in theasthma children, especially in Mp group. The TPTEF/TE, VPTEF/VTE, TEF25/PTEF arethe indexes that reflect the obstructing forces of airway, especially for small airway.MTEF/MTIF is the index reflecting the large ainway function. The heavier the airway isobstmcted, the smaller the ratio is. PTEF, MTEF change abnormally when childrensuffered form asthma in combination with Mp, so the changes of MTEF, PTEF can providethe basis to early therapy of MP.
