Objective: To explore the relationship between Survivin,Bcl-2 and PCNA after neoadjuvant chemotherapy(NACT) for breast neoplasm, and the correlation of Survivin,Bcl-2 and PCNA.Methods: The expression of Survivin,Bcl-2 and PCNA in 41 samples formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded primary breast neoplasm received neoadjuvant chemotherapy in our hospital from August 2004 to July 2006 was examined by using EnVison immunohistochemical method with anti-Survivin multiclonal antibody, anti-Bcl-2 monoclonal antibody and anti-PCNA monoclonal antibody respectively. Results: The expression of Survivin and PCNA index(PI) in post-neoadjuvant chemotherapy[34.15% and (46.40%±12.44)%] was significantly lower than that in pro-neoadjuvant chemotherapy [63.41% and (64.15%±16.04)%],P<0.05.But Bcl-2 was not statistically significant,P>0.05.Survivin had positive correlation with PCNA,P<0.05;no correlation with Bcl-2 and tumor size,P > 0.05.PI positive correlation with tumor size, histological grading,P<0.05. Conclusions: The expression of Survivin ,Bcl-2 and PCNA index(PI) after neoadjuvant chemotherapy decreased respectively, especial Survivin and PCNA index The study showed neoadjuvant chemotherapy inhibited the proliferation and induced apoptosis of breast cancer.Investigation of Survivin and PCNA play some guiding role in prognosis and following therapy of breast cancer.
