The Relationship Of Polymorphism Of The DNA Repair Gene-XRCC1 And Susceptibility To Gastric Cancer In Shandong Province

Objective: to study the relationship of polymorphism between the DNA repair gene- XRCC1 and susceptibility to gastric cancer in Shandong province.Methods: A case-conrol study of 107 cases with primary gastric cancer in Shandong province and 103 controls (matched for age and sex) was conducted to detect XRCC1 polymorphism at Arg194Trp,Arg280His and Arg399Gln loci. genetypes were analysed by PCR-based restriction fragment length polymorphism techniques.all of them were examined in epidemiology ,including history of smoking,drinking and family history of tumor.Results:No significant difference was found in the frequency of XRCC1Arg 194Trp,Arg280His and Arg399Gln genetypes between cases and controls. Individuals with 194Trp allele have a higher risk of fundus or gastric cancer than those with Arg/Arg genetypes(P<0.05),and are inclined to remote metastasis(P<0.05).Conclusions: The polymorphsisms of XRCC1Arg194Trp may contribute to the risk of fundus or cardia cancer and prompt remote metastasis.
