Background and Object Orbital lymphoma is a kind of commonly seen malignant orbital tumor. The classification of orbital lymphoma is very complex, to which different prognoses would be lead. So it is important to make correct classification and differential diagnosis. In this study, using immunohistochemical staining techniques, 64 cases of orbital lymphomas were reclassified according to the 2001 WHO classification, to further understand the immunophenotype of different orbital lymphomas. Methods we analysed the immunophenotype of 64 patients who had been diagnosed as orbital lymphoma with immunohistochemistry and reclassified them. Results 1. According to the WHO classification, 60 cases of orbital lymphoma, including the six subtypes, were classified as follows: there were 41 cases of MALT(68.33%), 9 cases of DLBL(15%), 3cases of FL(5%), 1 case of BV-MCL(1.67%) and 1 case of BL(1.67%), as well as 5 cases of NK/T lymphoma. The result showed that the orbital lymphomas were mostly MALT type. 2. As for the immunophenotype, 55 cases of B-NHL expressed B-cell markers and did not express T-cell markers while NK/T lymphomas were of the opposite. 41 cases of MALT were negative for CD5,CD10 and cyclinD1, 38 of which showed immunoglobin light chain restriction. 6 cases were BCL 6 positive and 1 case CD10 positive in 9 DLBL. All the 3 cases of FL expressed BCL2 and BCL6, 2 of which expressed CD10. As for the NK/T, all the 5 cases were CD56 positive, while CD3e and TIA-1 were expressed in 4 cases. Conclusion MALT is the most common type of orbital lymphoma. Different type of orbital lymphoma has its own characteristics and the immunohistochemistry analysis is helpful to make the differential diagnosis .
