The Analysis Research On Discogenic Low Back Pain With Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Objective : Observation the MRI image characteristic of discogenic low back pain , discuss MRI in the diagnosis of discogenic low back pain, and to provide reference for its diagnosis. Methods : Observation of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital orthopedic specialists and patient wards during the consultation 2005.09-2007.01 treatment of discogenic low back pain in 79 patients with 132 lesions disc, and establish a database of statistical data, reference diagnostic classification criteria for statistical analysis. Results : discogenic low back pain patients mostly have traumatic history;changes of disc lesions on L4-5 and L5-S1 as most common; discogenic low back pain patients generally have the disc low signal change on MRI often the part- ner has Modic drafts,high intensity zone(HIZ),Schmorl tubercle and so on. Conclusion : single-node of the MRI signal with posterolateral disc HIZ can be a more reliable explanation the disc is source of the pain ;HIZ reliable diagnostic discogenic low back pain is the hallmark images;endplate cartilage degeneration(Modic drafts) may play an important role in diagnosis.
