Objective To estimate the clinic values of the ASSR by using audiometries in a group of cochlear implantation candidates ,compare the statistic significances of the outcomes, and evaluate the effects of age, sex and difference of ear on the thresholds of ASSR .Method Thirty candidates were tested with behavioral hearing thresholds, ASSR, ClickABR and 40HzAERP , when they were quiet or sleeping naturally , then the statistic significances of the outcomes were analyzed.Result Comparison of ASSR and behavioral hearing thresholds at 0.5,1.0,2.0,4.0KHz , the r values were 0.752,0.835,0.872 and 0.851, respectively. At 0.5KHz,the gap was 10~20dB,while in other carrier frequencies, the gap was 5~15dB.Comparison of ASSR and ClickABR,the r value was 0.898,then ASSR could evaluate the function of the hearing as well as ClickABR. Comparison of ASSR and 40HzAERP at 0.5KHz and 1KHz,the r values were 0.749 and 0.816 ,respectively. Comparison of the ClickABR and behavioral hearing thresholds, the r value was 0.745. Comparison of 40HzAERP and behavioral hearing thresholds,the r values were 0.588 and 0.788 at 0.5KHz,1.0KHz,respectively. For different age group(≤5 and >5),the distinction of the thresholds of ASSR at 0.5kHz was significant(p=0.042<0.05), while at 1.0 kHz, 2.0 kHz and 4.0 kHz, the differences were not obvious. The P values were 0.095,0.083 and 0.372 respectively. No differences were found in the thresholds of male and female at 0.5KHz,1.0 KHz and 2.0KHz, the P values were 0.125, 0.208 and 0.489 respectively;While the difference was significant at 4.0 kHz, the P value was 0.014. There was no statistic significance of the thresholds of ASSR at different frequency between left ear and right ear. The P values were 0.656, 0.134, 0.130 and 0.950 at 0.5kHz, 1.0 kHz, 2.0 kHz and 4.0 kHz respectively.Conclusion ASSR had good frequency-specific, with high stimulus intensity, could obtain 8 frequencies at both ears simultaneously. It was a promising objective audiometry, especially in infants and young children. The influence on the thresholds of ASSR between ears was not significant; while the effects of age and sex need to be further studied.
