| Objective: To compare transurethral vaporization of the prostate(TVP) with suprapubic transvesical prostatectomy on the operative safety using intraoperative determinate of blood loss, blood sugar ,electrolytes changes and complications, Meanwhile, to discuss the pathogenesis of complications related to TVP and its managements and preventions.Patients and methods: 80 cases of BPH were randomized into two groups treated by either TVP or open prostatectomy. Control group (group A) included 40 patients who underwent open prostatectomy, other 40 patients underwent TVP as study group (groupB) .Blood loss of TVP patients was calculated with TDX hemoglobin instrument.Blood electrolytes and sugar were checked just before fifteen minutes and during operation and immediately after operation. The patient's arterial blood pressure, heart rate and reaction were also carefully observed during and after operation, and complications,if any, were takendown. All data were analyzed with statistics. Results: The IPSS,QOL, postvoid residual urine volume(RUV) were significantly improved if compared with preoperative data(P<0.05).No significant different in the improvement of subjective sympotoms and objective results has beennoted with the different procedures(P>0.05).Conclusion: The TVP has similar therapeutic effect as open prostatectomy for thetreatment of symptomatic BPH.TVP is regarded as shorter operative and recoveringtime, minimally invasive procedure, less blood loss and complication for the patientswith BPH. |
