| Legionellosis is a disease infected by legionella . It is an acute infectious disease which main symptom is pneumonia accompanied by damages of other organs and systems . There have been occurrences of Legionellosis on the large scales or on the small scales in many countries and districts since its first occurrence on the sudden large scales in America in 1976 . Now , with widely usage of modern appliances such as air-conditioniongs , cool-towers and humidifiers , the chances of infection with legionella will be increased greatly and will have more serious damages . Legionella pneumonia is the main type of legionellosis . It is not only the pathogen for commuity acquired pneumonia , but also one of the main pathogens for hospital acquired pneumonia .The investigation results of epidemiology shows that there is infection of legionella in our country . In order to invest the status of legionella infection in Changchun , we detect the serum levels of legionella's antibody with the principle of double-antigen sandwich ELISA . We tested 145 healthy peoples'serum samples and 41 patients'serum samples with lung infection diseases . We found that the positive rate of legionella antibody was 10.34% in healthy people and 12.19% in patients with lung infection diseases .We analysed the results and concluded that there were positive rates of legionella's antibody in healthy people and in patients with lung infection diseases . The levels of patients with lung infection diseases are higher than the levels of healthy people but there is no statistic significance . (P>0.05). We also found that the positive rate of legionella's antibody was lower than that of suthern districts .We think that this phenomenon maybe relates to the regional disparity . The method we used in our test (ie , the principle of double-antigen sandwich ELISA to test the whole level of legionella's antibody IgG)can be used in restrospective diagnosis and epidemiological retrospective survy of Legionellosis . |
