The Clinical Effect Study Of The Application Of 5-fluorouracil On Dacryocystorhinostomy Under Intranasal Endoscopy For Chronic Dacryocystitis

Objective To study long-term clinical curative effect of the application of 5-FU on postoperative lacrimal passages cicatricial adhesion after dacryocystorhinostomy under intranasal endoscopy for chronic dacryocystitis.Medthods The forty-two patients(48 eyes) are random selected two groups:one group(21 cases) of the patients after dacryocystorhinostomy under intranasal endoscopy for chronic dacryocystitis are applied to place 5-FU on the bone window ten minutes guiding cold light(Treat Group),then wash it with water quickly and put a silicone tube through the new lacrimal passage.another group(21 cases) patients merely carried out dacryocystorhinostomy under intranasal endoscopy without putting 5-FU(Contral Group),but the other operation is same.The new hole of two group patients is 30.19±3.52mm~2 and 30.78±4.23mm~2 after a week.All of them were followed up 3 to 12 months.Results 96.00%of Treat Group(21 cases;25 eyes) are recovered following up 3 to 6 months and 92.00%of Treat group are recovered following up 6 to 12 months,but 78.26%of Contral Group(21 cases;23 eyes) are recovered following up 3 to 6 months and 69.56%of Contral Group are recovered following up 6 to 12 months.The recovery rate of Treat Group exceeds Contral Group from x~2 test.The hole of two group patients is 25.30±4.82mm~2 and 12.21±3.19mm~2 after six months,and the areas of Treat Group is big than Contral Group from t test.Conclusions The once application of 5-FU on postoperative lacrimal passages cicatricial adhesion after dacryocystorhinostomy under endoscopy treating chronic dacryocystitis profits to prostecdtive efficacy.It's a tiny wound and new safe effective method.
