Objective:To research the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and p27 in ovarian carcinomas,as well as the correlations with several clinicopathologic,formation of the ascites and demonst- rative prognostic parameters,and to investigate the significance.Methods:VEGF and p27 protein expressions were examined by immunohistochemical staining (SABC)and hemiquantity calculation,and the MVD in 62 cases of ovarian carcinomas and 30 cases of normal ovary tissues.The correlation between VEGF and p27 expression and the MVD and histological tyes and clinical stages in ovarian carcinoma were analysed.Results:1) The MVD of various clinical stages and pathologic grade in ovarian carcinoma The MVD of various clinical stages and pathologic grade was higher in ovarian carcinoma than that in control(p<0.01),there was a significant difference about the MVD betweenⅠ,Ⅱ,Ⅲstages andⅣstage,and betweenⅠstage andⅢstage in various clinical stages.On the other hand,the MVD was enhanced accompanied with more FIGO stages in ovarian carcinomas.2) The positive rate of VEGF and p27 protein expression in ovarian tissue The p27 protein expression was lower in ovarian tissue than that control,the positive rate of p27 protein expression was 29.03%in ovarian carci- noma,there was significant between in ovarian carcinomas and control(p<0.01).The positive cases of p27 protein expression was 30.43%in ovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma,28.57%in ovarian mucinous cyst- adenocarcinoma,there was no significant(p>0.05).The VEGF protein expression was higher in ovarian tissue than that control,the positive rate of VEGF protein expression was 90.32%in ovarian carcinoma,there was significant between in ovarian carcinoma and control(p<0.01).The positive cases of p27 protein expression was 93.48%in ovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma,92.86%in ovarian mucinous cystadeno- carcinoma,there was no significant(p>0.05).3)The PI of VEGF and p27 protein expression at various clinical stages in ovarian carcinomaThe PI of VEGF protein expression is higher at various clinical stages in ovarian carcinoma than that in control(p<0.01),The PI of p27 protein expression enhanced, there was a significant difference about the PI of p27 protein expression betweenⅡ,Ⅲ,Ⅳstages and control(p<0.01).there was a significant difference about the PI of VEGF and p27 protein expression in various clinical stages.4)The PI of VEGF and p27 protein expression at various pathologic grade in ovarian carcinomaThe PI of VEGF protein expression is higher at various pathologic grade in ovarian carcinoma than that in control(p<0.01).the PI of p27 protein expression is higher atⅡ,Ⅲgrade in ovarian carcinoma than that in control(p<0.01).On the other hand,the PI of VEGF protein expression was enhanced,and the PI of p27 protein expression was decreased accompanied with more grade in ovarian carcinomas.there was a significant difference about the PI of p VEGF and p27 protein expression in various pathologic grade(p<0.05 or p<0.01)5)The PI of VEGF and p27 protein expression at various pathologic type in ovarian carcinomaThere was no significant difference about the PI of VEGF and p27 protein expression in various pathologic type(p>0.05)6)Relationship between the positive rate of VEGF and p27 protein expression and lymph node metastasis and ascitic volum in ovarian carcinomaThe positive rate of VEGF protein expression was 75.00%,and that of p27 was 25.00% in no lymph node metastasis.The positive rate of VEGF protein expression was 97.37%, there was a significant difference between lymph node metastasis and no lymph node metastasis(p<0.05);and the positive rate of p27 was 34.21%in lymph node metastasis, there was no significant difference between lymph node metastasis and no lymph node metastasis(p>0.05).The positive rate of VEGF protein expression was 95.41%,and that of p27 was 36.82%in more 500ml ascitic volum,The positive rate of VEGF protein expression was 74.86%,and that of p27 was 21.43%in less 500ml ascitic volum.There was significant about the positive rate of VEGF protein expression between more 500ml ascitic volum and less 500ml ascitic volum(p<0.01).There was no significant about the positive rate of p27 protein expression between more 500ml ascitic volum and less 500ml ascitic volum(p>0.05).Conclusion:1)There was significant relationship between MVD,VEGF and P27 protein expression and angiogenesis,clinical stages,various pathologic grade,lymph node metastasis and ascitic volum.2) MVD,VEGF and P27 protein were significant clinical parameter in ovarian carcinoma,may be involved in progression of ovarian carcinoma,examination of VEGF and P27 protein expression was of great value in understanding the degree of malignancy,and evaluating prognosis of the disease.
