| Objective To investigate the therapeutic effects of pneumatic lithotripsy(PL) through ureteroscope in the treatment of middle and distal ureterolithiasis. Methods The clinical application of rigid ureteroscopy in 400 cases were retrospectively analyzed. Results The stones-free rate was 89.4%in the middle ureteral calculi and 97.7%in the distal ureteral calculi patients, respectively. The complication rate was 8.75%. Conclusions Pneumatic lithotripsy is an excellent form of treatment for ureteric calculi. It is a very reliable,highly effective, rapid and safe procedure. Improvement of the operation skills are the keys to increase the success rate and decrease the complication rate. Upper ureteric calculi may be treat with pneumatic lithotripter first. |
