Objective:To evaluate the outcome and prognostic analysis of bilateral primary breast cancer(BPBC) . Methods:The clinical data of 54 patient s with BPBC , admitted to xinjiang Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital from March 1996 to December 2006 were collected and analyzed on prognostic factors. Calculation of survival rate apply Kaplan-Meier, Prognostic analysis apply Cox regressive mode.Results:5-year and 10-year Cumulative Survival rate of BPBC were 57.9 % and 30.0%. The difference Cumulative Survival rate of sBPBC(Synchronous BPBC , sBPBC) and mBPBC's (Metachronous BPBC , mBPBC) is no significant(P=0.904). The stage of bilateral tumor and hormone receptor of the second tumor affect the survival of BPBC significantly. The result s of multivariate analysis showed that the stage and hormone receptor of the second tumor are prognostic factors of bilateral primary breast cancer. Conclusion:The survival rate of sBPBC is similar to that of mBPBC. The prognosis of bilateral primary mammary cancer is decided by the stage of bilateral tumor and hormone receptor of the second tumor. Above all , the stage and hormone receptor of the second tumor are major factor to influence its prognosis.
