| Objective: By detecting the expression of COX-2,Bcl-2 and P53 proteins in the tissue of non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) and paracancerous tissues. We studied the effects of COX-2, Bcl-2 and P53 proteins and the correlation among COX-2, Bcl-2 and P53 proteins on the development of NSCLC.Methods: The expression of COX-2, Bcl-2 and P53 proteins was detected in 72 cases of NSCLC and the same cases of paracancer tissues of NSCLC by immunohistochemical method.Results:(1)The rate of positive expression of COX-2, Bcl-2 and P53 proteins was higher in the tissues of NSCLC than those in paracancerous tissues of NSCLC, it was significantly different.(2)The degree of expression of COX-2 protein in NSCLC was relative to the pathological types, histologic classes, the size of tumor, clinical stages and metastatic lymphonode, but was not relative to the age, sexuality and the history of smoking. The worse histologic classes, the later clinical stage, the bigger tumor and the more metastatic lymphonode, the higher rate was the positive expression of COX-2 protein. The rate of expression of COX-2 protein in adenocarcinoma was higher than in squamous cancer.(3) The degree of expression of Bcl-2 protein in NSCLC was relative to the size of tumor, clinical stages and metastatic lymphonode, but was not relative to the age, sexuality , the history of smoking, the pathological types and histologic classes. The later clinical stage, the bigger tumor and the more metastatic lymphonode, the higher rate was the positive expression of Bcl-2. (4) The degree of expression of P53 protein in NSCLC was relative to the metastatic lymphonode, but was not relative to the age, sexuality , the history of smoking, the pathological types , histologic classes, the size of tumor and clinical stages. The more metastatic lymphonode, the higher rate was the positive expression of P53 protein.(5)The level of expression of COX-2, Bcl-2 and P53 proteins was closely related to each other in the carcinoma of NSCLC, the coefficients of correlation were 0.323 ,0.324 and 0.479,p<0.05.Conclusion: The experimental results were suggested that COX-2, Bcl-2 and P53 proteins play important roles in oncogenesis and progression of NSCLC. The higher positive expression of COX-2, Bcl-2 and P53 proteins was indication for the tumor growing quickly and the disease stage being later and lymphonode having metastasis. The overexpression of COX-2 protein was always detected in adennocarcinoma and bad differentiated carcinoma in NSCLC. The expression of COX-2, Bcl-2 and P53 proteins in NSCLC was related to each other. COX-2, Bcl-2 and P53 had together taken part in the oncogenesis, development, invasion of carcinoma and lymphonode metastasis in NSCLC. Detection the level of COX-2, Bcl-2 and P53 proteins expression might be useful to judge the stage of disease and lymphonode metastasis of NSCLC, and to predict the prognosis of patients with NSCLC. Also, this results have provided a fundamental theory for the prevention and treatment of NSCLC. |
