In cases of complete type of discoid meniscus, the rate of excellent and good result was 92.3% which patients treated with total meniscectomy, the rate of excellent and good result was 72.7% which patients treated with partial menisectomy. The difference between total and partial meniscectomy was significant according to the evaluate of Lysholm (P<0.05).In cases of incomplete type of discoid meniscus, there were no significant difference between total and partial meniscectomy. Conclusion: 1 .Arthroscopic management for discoid meniscus can obtain excellent and good efficacy in short-term and medium-term effects; 2.Patients suffered complete type of discoid meniscus should be treated wth total meniscectomy, while incomlete one should be treated with partial meniscectomy.
