Objective: To analyze the etiology and the reasons of misdiagnosis in the protein-losing gastroenteropathy with the manifestation of Hypo-proteine-mia, improving the diagnosis rate and reducing the misdiagnosis.Method: selecting the in-patients in digestive Medicine ward of Xiangya Hospital from January 2002 to December 2007 as medical research object, Searching 179 related records from the Medical Record Information Section, using the following key words such as Hypoproteinemia, Intestinal Lymphangiectas ,Crohn's disease, Intestinal malabsorption syndrome, Eosinophilic gastroenteritis, Peutz-Jeghers syndrome. We selecting the medical records who has the clinical manifestations of Hypoproteinemia, excluding the cases who have the Heart, liver kidney disease and nutritional dropsy .In the end, 15 cases meet the requirements . We use the retrospective analysis.Rusult: The etiologies of the protein-losing gastroenteropathy with the manifestation of Hypoproteinemia exist in the following disease such as untypical Crohn's disease,Primary Intestinal Lymphangiectas,Immunoproliferative enteropathy,Menetrier's disease and Multiple sclerosis. The cases of Crohn's disease are the most 53.3%(8/15). 66.7% of all the cases have the history of misdiagnosis.5 cases of Crohn's disease are misdialyzed,2 cases are dialyzed to nutritional dropsy, one case is dialyzed to chronic gastroenteritis and one is dialyzed to peptic ulcer; Primary Intestinal Lymphangiectas is dialyzed to nutritional dropsy; multiple sclerosis is dialyzed to Tuberculous peritonitis; In 3 cases whose etiology is unknown,one case is dialyzed to chronic gastroenteritis ,one is dialyzed to megaloblastic anemia and one is dialyzed to nutritional dropsy. 100%(9/9)of The double-ballon enteroscopy exam find the pathological changes.Conclusion: The cases who are dialyzed untypical Crohn's disease is the most in the protein-losing gastroenteropathy with the manifestation of Hypoproteinemia and it's easily misdilyzed. The misdiagosis rate is high(66.7%) in the protein-losing gastroenteropathy with the manifestation of Hypoproteinemia. The double-ballon enteroscopy is very valuable to the diagnosis for the protein-losing gastroenteropathy with the manifestation of Hypoproteinemia.
