Experimental Study Of Biological Reduction Fixation System In The Treatment Of Spinal Fracture

ObjectivesTo study bio-mechanism properties of biological reduction fixation system by dog model of spinal fracture.Methods(1) preparation of B-RF : it was made up from fresh, healthy cow long bones. Periosteum and medulla are removed from the long bones. With the way of proffessor Tianjing Zhu to hetergenetic bone. According to anatomic results of dog's spine, compact bones were made into different kinds of pedicle bone screw by machine tools. Finally these constructions are defat and deprotein, and sterilization by ethylene oxide.( 2) To establish instable spinal fracture model of dogs: Fore-spinal fracture were made by cut off centrum, and post-spinal fracture were made by remove the spinous process, supraspinal ligaments and interspinal ligments in 2 healthy mature dogs. By observing their activities and x-ray results, dog's instable models of spinal fractures were evaluated . (3) 7 sets of B-RF system was used to fix instable fractures of dog's spine. Function recovery, which included daily activity, run, jump, were observed postoperatively. X-ray examination in 2 months after operation was used to determine the fastness of fixation and whether factures can be healed.ResultsInstable spinal fracture model of all dogs was established. Spinal fractures had good position and alignment,and normal activities of all dogs were recoveried after operation. X-ray examination showed that fracture lacation was good, B-RF hadn't loose and break ,and there were lots of bone callus in fracture site in 2 months after operation.ConclusionB-RF has good Biocompatibility and bio-mechanism property to fix spinal fracture of dogs...
