The Study Of TCM Symptoms With Sex Hormone Level And Insulin Resistance On Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Objective:To explore the relationship between the TCM syndrome types of polycystic ovary syndrome and its sexual hormones and insulin resistance,and to offer the basis for the dialectical objectifying of traditional Chinese medicine and enrich dialectical means.Methods:Divided 91 cases of polycystic ovary syndrome into 30 cases of asthenia of kidney type,20 cases of phlegm-dampnes blockage type,18 cases of biood-stasis type,23 cases of stagnation of liver qi type,and 25 healthy women,measured their levels of testosterone(T), follicle stimulating hormone(FSH),luteinizing hormone(LH).prolactin(PRL).estradiol (E₂),progesterone(P),and fasting insulin(FINS),fasting plasma glucose(FPG)and claculate homeostasis model assessment insulin resistance(HOMA-IR).Results:(1)the level of T:both asthenia of kidney,type and stagnation of liver qi type were higher than other types and control groups notably(P＜0.05 or P＜0.01).(2) the level of E₂:all of the types were lower than control groups,the differences in all the paired comparisons between TCM syndrome types were insignifican(P＞0.05).(3) the level of P:the differences in all the paired co.sons between TCM syndrome types and control groups were insignifican(P＞0.05).(4) the level of LH and LH/FSH:asthenia of kidney.type and stagnation of liver qi type were higher than other types and control groups notably(P＜0.05 or P＜0.01).(5) the level of PRL:stagnation of liver qi type and btood-stasis.type were higher than other types and control groups notably(P＜0.05 or P＜0.01),stagnation of.liver qi type was lower than other types notably(P＜0.01),except for the blood-stasis type,(6) the level of FINS and HOMA-IR:phlegm-dampnes blockage type were higher than other types and control groups notably(P＜0.01).Conclusion:TCM syndrorne types of PCOS are relaxed with the levels of T,LH,LH/FSH,PRL,FINS,HOMA-IR,they can be used as reference for differentiation of PCOS TCM syndrome types.
