| [Objective]To summarize the clinical characteristics of vitiligo.[Methods]To review the data of 826 vitiligo cases from 1998 to 2008 in Beijing Hospital retrospectively,and to analysis the data statistically.[Results]In 826 patients,there were 466 males and 360 females, and the ratio of them was 1.29:1.The patients present with vitiligo in their early age and 40.7%cases before age 20;170 of the 826 patients had positive family history(20.6%).Therewere44.12%,41.18%and 10.00 %of patients with vitiligo in their first,second and third degree relatives,respectively.Patients with family history had an earlier onset age than the patients without a family history((t=1.97,p<0.05); Vitiligo vulgaris was the most common type and found in 91.40%(755) patients,followed by segmental type in 7.0%(58) patients.The most common first affected sites were head and face(31.5%totally),and 35.6% cases occurred in spring;Vitiligo was frequently associated with other autoimmune diseases(8.1%),including thyroid diseases,diabetes, alopecia,connective tissue diseases and Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada syndrome. Mouth ulcer was showed in 1.6%(13) patients and halo nevus was showed in 5.00%(41)patients.Except the skin changes,60.1%patients had hair changes and 17.80%patients had nail changes.There were more females than maless in patients aged below 14,55.03%and 44.97%respectively.The child patients were more likely to present with Keobner' sign and halo nevus than the elder one(p<0.05).[Conclusion]①Vitiligo usually began in childhood or young adulthood and no big difference between males and females.②Vitiligo was more likely to occur in warm seasons,especially in spring.③Vitiligo was believed to have a multifactorial genetic basis.There were 44.12%, 41.18%and 10.00%of patients with vitiligo in their first,second and third degree relatives,respectively.Patients with a family history had an earlier onset age than the one without a family history(t=1.97,p<0.05).④Exposure areas were the most commonly affected sites and the generalized pattern was most common.Hair and nails were usually involved.⑤Vitiligo was frequently associated with other autoimmune diseases(8.1%), especially thyroid diseases,diabetes and alopecia.⑥There were more females than males in child vitiligo patients,who were more likely to present with Koebner' sign and halo nevus than elder patients(p<0.05). |
