The Treatment Of Children's Femoral Shaft Fractures And Its Research Progress

Children's femoral shaft fractures are one of more common clinical trauma. There is a variety of treatment methods, but if not handled properly, it will result in adverse consequences. Structural characteristics of bones of children are different with adults. Fracture healing in children have the characteristic such as faster healing, self-correction and powerfull shaping ability. In the past we adopted the conservative methods , of which the advantage is easy,injured and suffered less. But in recent years because of improvements in internal fixation devices,elevation of the surgical techniques and the change on the concept of the treatment of fractures, children's femoral shaft fractures tend to get surgical treatment. No matter what methods of treatment we use, the purpose is shorter length of staying, faster healing, fewer complications and lower cost.
