| Objective:To study the risk factors, analyze the pathogenic condition and to assess the relationship between the risk factors and the degree of pathogenic condition in transient tachypnea of the newborn(TTN).Method:The clinical data of 177 patients with TTN were retrospectively analyzed.Obstetric factors and clinical findings were compared between patients received mechanical ventilation or continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP)(group 1) and those not received mechanical ventilation or CPAP(group 2). Results:In 177 patients with TTN,93.2%were delivered by Cesarean section,74.6% were male gender,62.1%of patients whose mothers were primiparas,48.6%of patients whose mothers had complications in gestation periods, and the complications mainly were fatal distress, intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy(ICP),premature rupture of membrane and hypertensive disorders complicating pregnancy;36.2%were preterm;11.6%of patients whose Apgar score≤7 at 1 minute;11.9%of patients with severe respiratory distress who need mechanical ventilation or CPAP.12.4%of patients had complications, including infection(septicemia, pneumonia) and pneumothorax; 58.0%of the patients who had cardiac ultrasound were with patent ductus arteriosus (PDA).The X-ray diagnoses were mostly TTN(or TTN probably) with increased pulmonary vascular markings, which accounted 75.1%.By comparison whether it had complications in gestation period, gestation age, birth weight, tachypnea lasted for≥ 72h,the peak respiratory rate in 24h,and the peak of respiratory rate between 24h and 48h,there were significant differences between group 1 and group 2(P<0.05 respectively). Conclusion:delivered by Cesarean section, male gender, primiparas, complications in gestation periods, preterm infants, asphyxia in perinatal periods may be risk factors of TTN,and complications in gestation periods, preterm infants, low of birth weight may be risk factors of TTN patients who had severe clinical condition and need assistant ventilation. |
