Clinical Effects And Safety Of TCM Combination Therapy On Cervical Spondylopathy Of The Nerve Root Type

Aim:By control with traction,diclofenac,neck collar,the normal treatment in modern medicinal,evaluate the clinical curative-effect and safety of using the XuantishouFa,Jingtongkeli,cervical sport to treat the cervical spondylopathy of the nerve root type.This randomized,controlled trial has addressed the possibility.Object:All the patients are from GuangDong Province Hospital Of Traditional Chinese Medicine during July of 2008 to April of 2009.There are 70 patients accord with the diagnose criterion,bring into criterion and exclude criterion.There are 36 patients in the shoufa team,and 34 patients in the traction team.Methods:We randomly assigned 70 patients who were accorded with the selecting standard to treatment group or to control group.Patients in treatment group received TCM combination therapy,including XuantishouFa qod,Jingtongkeli 4g p.o.tid and cervical sport 10 minutes bid during the course of 14 days.Meanwhile,patients in control group-wore neck collar immediately after receiving traction everyday and had Diclofenac 75mg p.o.qd over 14 days.We evaluated the effectiveness of TCM combination therapy using symptom score scale at day 2 and day 14 after therapy.The primary symptoms consist of pain of neck and shoulder and the activity of neck vertebra.The secondary symptoms were pain of neck,upper limbs anaesthesia,power of upper limbs,animal force of upper limbs,reflex of tendon,eaton essay and crushing test of interver tebral foramen.There are 7 interviews in the CRF,and the outcomes of 1^th,7^this the data of clinical curative-effect evaluation,in the study,using the x² test to deal with disperse data.All the continuum data should test the normality.The data that pass the normality test and the test of equality of variances use the t test.If the variances of two teams are not equal,the method of statistic is t'test.The data that are not normal distributing should use the Wilcoxon rank test.If the p value less than 0.05,it means that the difference is signature in statistics.The statistic software is SPSS 13.0.Results:1.Comparing with two team in age,course of diseases,all the P value are more than 0.05,the differences are no signature in statistics.2.On 1^thinterview,the pain of neck and shoulder in treatment team has signature in statistics;There are no signature in statistics in the symptom of the activity of neck vertebra in treatment team.3.On 1^thinterview,both the pain of neck and shoulder and the activity of neck vertebra in control team has no signature in statistics.4.The scores of total symptomshave signature in statistics On 1^thinterview in two teams.5.Compairing with the control team,the scores of total symptoms in treatment team has signature in statistics On 1^thinterview.6.On 7^thinterview,the main symptoms of the pain of neck and shoulder and the activity of neck vertebra have signatures in statistics in two teams.7.Compairing with the control team,the two symptoms in treatment team have signature in statistics On 7^thinterview.8.The scores of total symptoms have signature in statistics On 7^thinterview in two teams.9.Compairing with the control team,the scores of total symptoms in treatment team have signature in statistics On 7^thinterview.10.There are 4 on clinical rein,account 11.1%in treatment team,while 0 in control team,8 on excellence account 22.2%in treatment team,while 0 in control team,18 on utility account 50%in treatment team,while 25,account 73.5%in control team,6 on ineffective,account 16.7%,while 9,account 26.5% in control team.Compairing with the control team,the clinical efficacy in treatment team has signature in statistics,while compairing with the control team,the effective power in treatment team has no signature in statistics.Conclusions: Treatment group improved better than control group on pain of neck and shoulder at day 2 and did also better on the other symptoms at day 14.No obvious adverse reaction revealed.TCM combination therapy is effective and safe for Cervical spondylopathy of the nerve root type.
