Objective:This thesis discusses the progress of traditional Chinese and modern medical researches on Impaired Glucose Tolerance, and observe the intervention effects of Yinchenwulingsan on subjects with impaired glucose tolerance. Methods:A randomized parallel-group trial was used in the study.100 patients were diagnosed according to the standard of WHO(1999) were screened by oral glucose tolerance test(OGTT),and their data were retrospectively analyzed. 64 patients were randomly divided into two groups, observation group(n=32) and control group(n=32).All of the subjects received conventional education on IGT prevention.Besides of the education, the observation group was orally given Yinchenwulingsan which has the function of clearing Heat and eliminating Dampness, with a treatment course of 12 weeks for both groups. Before and after treatment several tests were performed for fasting plasma glucose(FPG),2 hour plasma glucose(2hPG),serum lipid, fasting insulin,Body Mass Index and other figures, and insulin resistance index were calculated. Results:Statistically, there were no significant differences in the clinical indexes between pre—cure and post—cure patients of the control group. The fasting plasma glucose, the 2h plasma glucose, fasting insulin,Insulin Resistance(IR),serum lipid and the clinical symptoms of the subjects in observation group were significantly improved, compared with either control group or the baseline data of observation group. And during the observing period, there was no side effect in observation group. Conclusion:Yinchenwulingsan is effective to improve IGT patients' fasting plasma glucose,2h plasma glucose,Insulin Resistance(IR),serum lipid and the clinical symptoms medicine。It is worth of a further research.
