| Objective To investigate the expression of angiotensinâ…¡type 1 receptor(AT1R) in prostate cancer(PCa) and its correlationship with microvessel density(MVD).Methods Immunohistochemical method(PV-9000) was used to study AT1R and CD34 in tissue samples of 50 cases of prostate cancer,14 cases of prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia(PIN) and 19 cases of benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH),MVD was assayed by CD34 positive blood vessels count.Resultsâ‘ The expression rates of AT1R in PCa,PIN and BPH were 78.00%,50.00% and 15.79%respectively,the result was of statistical significance(P<0.01);There were significantly different expression rates of AT1R between BPH and PIN(P<0.05),between PIN and PCa(P<0.05),and between BPH and PCa(P<0.01).In PCa,the expression rates of AT1R were 53.85%,80.00%and 90.91%for high,middle and low(no) histological differentiation tumors respectively,the result was of statistical significance(P<0.05); There was significantly different expression rate of AT1R between high and low(no) histological differentiation(P<0.05),but no different between high and middle histological differentiation(P>0.05),and between middle and low(no) histological differentiation(P>0.05).The expression rates of AT1R were 66.67%and 91.31%for stageâ… +â…¡and stageâ…¢+â…£respectively,the result was of statistical significance(P<0.05).â‘¡The MVD counts were 49.47±10.17,25.95±5.13 and 12.08±3.47 in PCa,PIN and BPH respectively,the result was of statistical significance(P<0.01);There were significantly different MVD counts between BPH and PIN,between PIN and PCa,and between BPH and PCa(P<0.01).In PCa,the MVD counts were 34.05±6.61,42.51±9.64 and 56.07±11.32 for high,middle and low(no) histological differentiation tumors, the result was of statistical significance(P<0.05);There were significantly different MVD counts between high and middle histological differentiation(P<0.05),between middle and low(no) histological differentiation(P<0.01),and between high and low(no) histological differentiation(P<0.01).The MVD counts were 39.47±9.37 and 58.62±8.63 for stageâ… +â…¡and stageâ…¢+â…£respectively,the result was of statistical significance(P<0.01).â‘¢MVD in AT1R positive group was significantly higher than that in AT1R negative(P<0.01).There was a positive correlation between AT1R expression and MVD(r=0.331,P<0.05).Conclusions The high expression of AT1R and the formation ofmicrovessel are closed correlated with development of PCa;AT1R plays an important role in PCa by increasing microvessel formation;AT1R and MVD examination is useful for the judgment of malignant degree and prognosis;AT1R may become a new target in treatment of PCa. |
