Objective:To clarify the the advances in the clinical manifestations and treatments of Guillain-Barre syndrome and provide reference for the diagnosis, clinical therapy and prognosis of Guillain-Barre syndrome. Methods:Our research was a retuospective study, the data came from the First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University during January ,2005 to October 2008 ,which treated as Guillain-Barre syndrome patients with a total of 92 cases. With the general collection of clinical data. According to the test of cerebrospinal fluid , the patients are divided into Protein-cell dissociation group and Protein-cell dissociation group . According the EMG of patients, the patients are divided into groups with axonal injury or demyelinating injury. According to the different treatments, the patients are divided into combined treatment group, hormone therapy group and IVIG treatment group. According to the curative effect after two weeks, divided the various groups into excellence group, effective group and inefficient group. And then compared the curative effect between two groups.Results:56.52%patients are male and others are female. There are 46.73% patients are the age of 40 to 60 years old, 34.78% patients are the age of 20 to 40 years old. The maximum precursor factors is respiratory tract infection, accounting for 71.64%.Frequently,the first symptom is limb weakness, accounting for 76.09%.The average peak illness condition is 10.35±7.46 days. 57.61 % patients'tendon reflexes are disappear, 40.22 % patients'tendon reflexes are subdued. In this study,75%patients have the symptom of hypoesthesia, 68.48%patients have the symptom of limb numbness , 53.26%patients have the felt diminish signs. 58.7%patients have the cranial nerve damage, 40.22%patients have the autonomic nerve damages, and 16.3%patients have the symptom of dyspnea . Respiratory system infection accounted for 29.35%.Protein-cell dissociation of cerebrospinal fluid is accounting for 68.12 %.95.23%patients have the normal electromyogram examination. The faster reinstate percentage of axonal is higher than the percentage of demyelinating damages, but afterΧ2 test,P>0.5. The curative effect of combined treatment group, excellence group accounting for62.55%, effective group accounting for33.33% and inefficient group accounting for5.12%.The curative effect of hormone therapy group, excellence group accounting for54.06%, effective group accounting for45.96% and inefficient group accounting for 0%.After the ranking changed Nonparametric test,P>0.05.Conclusions:This study showed that the manifestations of 92 cases of GBS patients with the general performance of a variety of clinical manifestations, cerebrospinal fluid examination and EMG findings reported in the literature are mostly in line with domestic. And patients with hormone therapy and IVIG therapy both have the better efficacy. Respiratory infection symptoms and gastrointestinal symptoms are the The most common pre-infection of GBS, but the most common pre-infection in this study is respiratory infection. In the study also finds precursor factors ,such as surgery, systemic lupus erythematosus and lymphoma. Part of GBS patients without the features of cerebrospinal fluid protein - cell separation, combination the clinical manifestations, other clinical examinations as well as work experience, these patients also can be diagnosed as GBS.
