| Objective:In this study,we investigated the peripheral serum levels of sLOX-1, sCD40L and MMP-1 in patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS),and their relationship with the severity of coronary artery lesions and their diagnostic value in acute coronary syndrome.Methods:72 patients initially diagnosed as CHD were enrolled in our hospital from July to November in 2008,all of whom had coronary angiography(CAG).the serum levels of sLOX-1,sCD40L and MMP-1 were measured by ELISA in 45 patients with ACS(8 with STEMI and 37 with NSTEMI or UA),10 with SA and 17 with noncoronary heart disease(NCHD).The Gensini score and the numbers of coronary artery stenosis were evaluated by CAG.Result:(1)The serum levels of sLOX-1,sCD40L and MMP-1 were significantly increased in ACS group compared with SA group and NCHD group(all P<0.05),and there was no statistic differences between the later two groups(P>0.05);(2)The serum levels of sLOX-1,sCD40L and MMP-1 with ACS were correlated positively with the number of coronary artery stenosis(r=0.333,P=0.025;r=0.377,P=0.011;r=0.353, P=0.017;respectively),and also correlated positively with Gensini score(r=0.350, P=0.018;r=0.424,P=0.004;r=0.379,P=0.010;respectively),but not with CK-MB and cTnI(all P>0.05);(3)The serum sLOX-1 levels was correlated positively with sCD40L and MMP-1(r=0.378,P=0.010;r=0.356,P=0.016,respectively);(4)Area under ROS curve of sLOX-l(0.841) was larger than that of sCD40L and MMP-1 (0.729,0.731,respectively).Given a cutoff value of 1.550ng/mL,1.745ng/ml and 7.155ng/ml for sLOX-1,sCD40L and MMP-1 respectively, they can significantly discriminate ACS patients from all patients among consecutive patients undergoing CAG and showed 71.1%,64.4%,82.2%sensitivity,and 85.2%,78.8%,55.6% specificity for the diagnosis of ACS respectively.Conclusions:(1)The serum levels of sLOX-1,sCD40L and MMP-1 were significantly increased in the patients with ACS,which suggested that they might be associated with coronary plaque vulnerability;(2)The serum levels of sLOX-1, sCD40L and MMP-1 were correlated positively with the number of coronary artery stenosis and Gensini score, which suggested that they may promote the formation and development of coronary atherosclerosis;(3)The serum sLOX-1 levels was correlated positively with sCD40L and MMP-1,which suggested that the serum sLOX-1 levels be involved in the control of the sCD40L and MMP-1.Therefore,The serum levels of sLOX-1,sCD40L and MMP-1 can be used as early marker to diagnosis ACS,and sLOX-1 is the best marker of them. |
