The Effect On Compliance With Lifestyle Of Hypertensive Patients By Health Education Based On Distinguishing Diagnosis By TCM Theory

Objective In order to improve the compliance of Health-promoting lifestyle(HPLS)and provide foundation to carry out scientific health education for nursing staff,health education based on distinguishing diagnosis by TCM theory for Hypertensive patients in interventional therapy was conducted to explore the effect on compliance with Lifestyle of Hypertensive patients.Method Sixty hypertensive patients who were selected from two medical wards in the No.1 affiliated hospital in Heilongjiang University of TCM:They were divided randomly into two groups,namely,observation group and control group,respectively.The numbers of patients in each group are equal,which are both 30.For the patients in the control group, conventional nursing was taken,and for patients in the observation group additional health education based on distinguishing diagnosis by TCM theory,and the patients were followed up via telephone after three months. The Health-promoting Lifestyle Profile was utilized to assess the HPLS for patients in both groups.Results The results showed that the scores of the HPLS for patients in both groups were improved,however,there was little difference,which is that the scores of observation group's of the HPLS were higher than the control group(p＜0.01).Furthermore,the score differences of HPLS for patients in these groups obey statistics significance in four aspects,as the health responsibility,the nutrition,the physical activity and the stress management(p＜0.01).However,there was no significant difference between the scores in the personal relations and the spiritual growth these two aspects(p＞0.05).The scores of the HPLS for patients of liver yang hyperactivity were higher than the scores of the HPLS for patients of other two distinguishing diagnosis by TCM theory.Conclusion Comparing with the conventional nursing,Health education based on distinguishing diagnosis by TCM theory could improve significantly the HPLS of patients in distinguishing diagnosis by TCM theory.The health education based on distinguishing diagnosis by TCM theory is one of the high effective methods,and it is most effective for patients of liver yang hyperactivity.
