Objective: To study the status and changing trend of healthy lifestyle and behavioral literacy of urban and rural residents in Jiangsu Province,to understand the residents' awareness of health,the degree of practice of dietary nutrition and physical activity,and to analyze the impact of regional,gender,age,culture,economy and other factors,so as to provide basis for intervention of unhealthy lifestyle and popularization of healthy lifestyle and behavior.Methods: From 2012 to 2015,26 districts/counties were stratified by urban and rural areas.The survey districts/counties were randomly selected by cluster sampling method proportional to the population of the regions.Three streets /townships were randomly selected in the districts/counties.Two neighborhood committees/villages were randomly selected.100 households were randomly selected in each committee /villages.Randomly selected one resident by KISH table method to conduct a questionnaire survey.The recovered data data were input by Epi Data 3.0 and analyzed by Excel and SPSS 17.0.Based on the literature review,the research progress was sorted out,and the results were integrated into the design of interview outline.The final interview outline was determined by expert consultation method.Sixty staff members of six prefecture-level municipalities,relevant departments and social groups were interviewed face to face.The interview data collected based on coding analysis.Results: From 2012 to 2015,the overall level of healthy lifestyle and behavioral literacy of Jiangsu residents increased from 14.5% to 19.0%,with an increase of 31.0%.The level of rural residents increased from 13.1% to 16.3%,with an increase of 24.4%.The level of urban residents increased from 16.4% to 22.3%,with an increase of 36.0%.The literacy level of male residents increased from 15.0% to 20.6%,with an increase of 37.3%,female from 13.9% to 17.5%,with an increase of 25.9%.The literacy level of residents aged 15-24 decreased from 18.6% to 17.2%,and that of residents of other age groups increased in varying degrees.The literacy level of primary school residents increased from 7.1% to 10.6%,with an increase of 49.3%;the literacy level of farmers increased from 7.4% to 11.7%,with the highest increase of 58.1%,followed by civil servants,with an increase of 36.7%.The total awareness rate of residents that fruits cannot replace vegetables was higher than 70%.48.0% of residents can correctly understand the hazards of smoking.The awareness rate of how to promote mental health was only 50.0%.Only 32.4% of residents could correctly practice in coughing and sneezing.Less than 50% of residents were awareness of health card establishment institutions for pregnant and lying-in women and health management services for type 2 diabetes,and the latter was only 20%.Conclusion: The level of healthy lifestyle and behavioral literacy of the permanent residents in Jiangsu Province was better than the national average.The average annual increase percentage was also higher,and the increase rate was close to that of Shanghai and other areas.The literacy level of urban residents was higher than that of rural residents every year,and that of male residents was higher than that of female residents.Over the past four years,the healthy lifestyle and behavioral literacy of the 15-24 age group had declined.From the educational level,whether in rural or urban areas,the literacy level of the illiterate/semi-illiterate population was the lowest.The higher the educational level of residents,the higher the level of healthy lifestyle and behavior literacy.The awareness of life style and behavior of urban and rural residents needs to be further improved.
