This study was to examine the expression and significance of Fabp4 and vimentin in the human placenta with the following pregnancy-related diseases:intrauterine growth retardation(IUGR), pregnancy-induced hypertension syndrome(PIH) and gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM).The mRNA and protein expression of Fabp4 and Vimentin were detected by immunohistochemisry and real time RT-PCR,respectively.The expression of protein of Fabp4 in the placenta near the fetus of IUGR and GDM is higher than that in normal placenta and PIH,then there is no obvious difference between the normal and PIH.The expression of Fabp4 in the mesenchymal tissue is in the same level near the fetus. There is a decrement of the expression of protein of Vimentin in the IUGR,GDM,PIH and normal in the mesenchymal tissue near fetus.The expression in the blood vessel endothelium near parent is the highest in the GDM,then the normal is the least;In the mesenchymal tissue at mother-side,the expression in GDM and PIH are higher than that in the normal and IUGR.By real time RT-PCR,the level of mRNA of Fabp4 is least in normal,that in IUGR and GDM is obviously higher than that in normal,especially there is a statistical significance(P<0.05).The level of mRNA of Vimentin in the IUGR is higher than normal,then that in PIH is lower.The higher expression of protein and mRNA of Fabp4 in the placenta of IUGR,PIH and GDM suggest that Fabp4 is relatedto IUGR,PIH and GDM. Vimentin is related to IUGR.the relationship with between vimentin and PIH and GDM needs to be tested. |
