Objective: To analyze the results and explore the prognostic factors in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma treated by radical radiotherapy. Methods:The survival differences of one hundred and twenty five patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma initially treated by radiotherapy who had complete medical information were compared by Kaplan-Meier method, 8 clinical factors which may affect the outcome were analyzed by Log-rank test and then by Cox multivariate regression analysis. Results:The 1-year and 3-year overall survival rates were 93.6% and 78.5%,and the 1-year and 3-year disease-free survival were 91.8% and 72.7%, respectively. Single factors analysis showed that T stage, N stage, clinical stage, pre-treatment hemoglobin were prognostic factors of 3-year overall survival rates and 3-year disease-free survival; Multivariate analysis revealed that T stage, N stage, pre-treatment hemoglobin were independent factors for 3-year overall survival and 3-year disease-free survival, onset to treatment time was independent factors for 3-year disease-free survival. Conclusion:The 1-year and 3-year overall survival rates and the 1-year and 3-year disease-free survival of nasopharyngeal carcinoma in our department were higher. clinical stage,T stage,N stage,pre-treatment hemoglobin were most important prognostic factors.
