| Objective: To illuminate the relationship between E-cadherin,KAIl and potential metastasis of human invasive ductal breast cancer and the relative study,we examined expression of E-cadherin and KAI1 in human invasive ductal breast cancer tissue, breast fibroadenoma and breast mastopathy(cystoid hyperplasia) tissue. Methods: 50 cases definitely diagnosed as invasive ductal breast cancer, 10 cases as fibroadenoma and 10 cases as mastopathy had been collected.Immunohistochemical S-P method was used to detect E-cadherin and KAI1 in 50 cases of invasive ductal carcinomas of the breast, fibroadenoma and mastopathy breast. Relationship between E-cadherin and KAI1 was analysed as well as relationship between two tumor markers and potential metastasis of invasive ductal breast cancer. Results : The positive rates of E-cadherin and KAI1 protein in breast cancer tissue both were significantly lower than that of benign breast tissue. The high expression rates of E-cadherin and KAI1 protein were lower in patients with axihatllary lymph node metastasis than that in without lymph node metastasis. We foud that the high expression of KAI1 was related to E-cadherin in invasive ductal breast cancer, with the accordant expression. And the expression of E-cadherin may be related to that of ER and PR in breast carcinoma. Conclusion : The low expressive levels of E-cadherin and KAI1 protein were related to the maligmant progression of breast cancer. Therefore, detection of E-cadherin and KAI1 protein might be two potentially valuable indicator for staging human breast cancer and predicting prognosis. |
