Clinical And Theoretical Research On TCM Therapy For Acute Tonsillitis In Children

Clinical researchObjective:To evaluate efficacy of Bangboruexiao Granule due to Sore Throat in Children Caused by Exogenous wind-heat.Methods:72 patients consistence with diagnostic criteria were equally divided into the experimental group and the control group in a random, single-blinded, positive and parallel control way. The experimental group was administered with Bangboruexiao Granule, and the control group was administered with Xiaoerqingyan Granule. 5 days was acourse of treatment. We observed the improvement situations of the sore throat, fever and other symptoms in both grpups before and after the treatment according to the quantitative criteria table of TCM syndrome classification.Results:Compared with the control group, there was a significant difference (P<0.05) in the experimental group in improving the fever; Compared with the control group, there was no significant difference (P>0.05) in the experimental group in improving the therapeutic.Conclusion: Bangboruexiao Granule is effective due to Sore Throat in Children Caused by Exogenous wind-heat.Theoretical researchObjective:To make clear the connotation of the methods in TCM therapy for Acute tonsillitis.Methods: From the literature articles of acute tonsillitis on TCM clinical research in recent fifteen years, Stat the mostly used herbs, analyze the relationships of the methods they presented and the forms of the cooperation of them, then come to the core of therapeutic rule.Results:Clearing heat and detoxifcation is the most important rule in TCM therapy for acute tonsillitis. It involved the cooperation of relieving exterior, catharsis, dissipating phlegm and relieving blood stasis. Herbs mostly used are jinyinhua, lianqiao, gancao.jiegeng, niubangzi, bohe.Conclusion:The main rule in treating Acute tonsillitis is clearing heat and detoxifcation.
