Objective:To evaluate of patients with Atrial Fibrillation (AF) outpatient treatment in Dalian City. Methods:Collecting the information of 441 cases diagnosed AF from July 2008 to October 2008 in seven out-patient clinics of hospitals, and according to the level of different hospitals for treatment in accordance with the three-level, secondary-level and community hospitals are divided intoA,B,Cthree groups, we analyzed the baseline characteristics and current situation of treatment. Results: (1)In the 441 cases of AF patients, male to female ratio 1.1:1,the average age of 70.24±10.7 years old,the cases of AF is increasing with aging. Hypertension (57.8%),which surpassed Coronary Artery Disease(44.0%) and Heart Failure(40.8%), became the most common related factors of AF.(2)Among all the AF cases, Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation (PAF) and Chronic Atrial Fibrillation(CAF) were 36.5%, 63.5% respectively.33.5% of patients with PAF were used drug treatment of cardioversion. In GroupA amiodarone and propafenone were often given.GroupB-amiodarone.Group C-propafenone and digitalis.47.2% PAF patients were treated by controlling ventricular rate, and among three groups drugs most commonly used wereβ-receptor blockers, followed by digitalis and non-dihydropyridine calcium antagonist. 81.2% of CAF patients received therapy of controlling ventricular rate,in which often usedβ- receptor blockers and digitalis between GroupA and B,and in GroupC wereβ-receptor blockers,digitalis,propafenone.(3)The analysis of anti-arrhythmic drug found that in GroupC the usage rate ofβ-receptor blocker lower than the other two groups (P<0.05),and utilization rate of propafenone higher than other two groups (P<0.05). (4)The rate of anti-thrombosis treatment:GroupA 85.3%,GroupB 76.4%, GroupC 59.2%.(5)The utilization rate of traditional Chinese medicine was 11.1%, which higher in GroupC than in the other two groups(P<0.05). Conclusion:At present in outpatient treatment of AF patients in Dalian City there are still problems of irregular anti-arrhythmic treatment, the lack of intensity and measurement in anti-thrombosis treatment, which existed lags behind AF control guidelines of ACC/AHA/ESCA in 2006,to be further enhanced.
