The Effect Of PEMFs On BFGF And Subtance P After Acute Skeletal Muscle Contusion In Rats

ObjectiveTo observe the effect of PEMFs on bFGF and Subtance P after acute skeletal muscle contusion in rats.Methods42 SD rats were divided into three groups: theropy group,control group and nomal group. According to the time of rats were killed, each group were divided into two subgroup T3,T5. The rats in T3 were killed on 3th day , T5 on 5th day .Using the method "Free-falling weights"made the rat model with acute skeletal muscle contusion. After succeding in making the model one hour, the theropy group were treated with PEMFs for one hour, once daily treatment; the control group had no treatment. Normal group were not treated any treatment.We researched the specimens by haematoxylin-eosin staining and immunohistochemical techniques in order to measure the level of bFGF and Subtance P, and know the results of histological and histochemical scoring system. At last we used statistics to analysis the differences of each group.Result1.After acute skeletal muscle contusion, the expression of bFGF significantly reduced compared with normal group(P<0.05);2.The expression of bFGF show no difference comparing theropy group with control group(P>0.05);3.After acute skeletal muscle contusion, the expression of SP significantly increased compared with normal group(P<0.05);4. Theropy group released SP less than control group(P<0.05).ConclusionAfter acute skeletal muscle contusion, a large number of muscle fibers were destroyed, lead to bFGF reduce, stimulate the nerve fibers release SP. PEMFs should not increase the expression of bFGF to promote acute skeletal muscle wound healing but can induce the release of SP to relief pain.
